Gabrielle LeCompte, M.D., L.Ac.
Dr. Gabrielle LeCompte is an integrative doctor, researcher, and educator whose work bridges conventional medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and functional and/or Integrative medicine. She previously worked with Multidisciplinary Research for the Division of Integrative Medicine projects at Highland Hospital/Alameda Health System and is the current director of V-LEAD Medical Research Initiative, mentoring high school and pre-medical students in collaborative research and scientific publication.
Dr. LeCompte earned her medical degree from the University of Health Sciences Antigua (UHSA) and a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University along with doctoral training through the South Baylor OMD program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiological Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she conducted and presented her undergraduate thesis, “Energy Utilization and Specificity of Endurance Training,” to the Board of Kinesiological Sciences. She has co-authored peer-reviewed research in integrative medicine, including studies “Acupuncture for Pain and Nausea in the Intensive Care Unit: A Feasibility Study in a Public Safety-Net Hospital” and “Dermal Carotenoid Measurement is Inversely Related to Anxiety in Patients with Breast Cancer,” and served as a guest lecturer for the Integrative Medical Program’s Herbal Pharmacology Series at the University of California, Berkeley.
Through her clinical practice, research leadership, and teaching, Dr. LeCompte is committed to advancing evidence-informed integrative medicine while preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals and researchers.
